Trying to blog again - hope this doesn't disappear!
This is my 3rd try to blog since last week. I tried twice and today tried again and it disappeared.
Last week Larry was discharged from his OT. He gets therapy when the Dr. orders it after Botox but not each time. We take what we can get. She mostly did measurements and noted not much change in his arm/hand movement. There was a little more in the wrist and a little in arm but a lot of spatiscity, which he needs to work on. She brought in a thing called a foot funnel for Larry to help with putting on his shoes. Larry liked it and I ordered one along with elastic laces. I also ordered a splint for his thumb which keeps bending outword. I have been coaxing him to walk outside while the weather is nice. He resists this but goes as if I'm pushing him out the door. I said when the bad weather comes, we won't be able to enjoy going out. I doubt he cares.
My daughter came in last weekend from Michigan and helped me with some yardwork and other things I had on my list. We looked at toilets also, which wasn't much fun, but she had also wanted to get a new one for her condo. Larry has an over the toilet raised seat with arms for his bathroom but I wanted a higher one for the hall. Unfortunately, the hall BR is too small for grab bars so I don't know if the higher toilet would help Larry much. My son came over Sunday for dinner and helped wash windows. It's always good to have that kind of help. There seems to be so much to do for me with the yard, home, pets, and Larry.
We went to the internist follow up appt. today for Larry. I went over the upcoming sleep study, 23 hr. care colonoscopy, medicines, etc. I had a long list. I was concerned about Larry's weight and the fact that he is not interested in leaving the house, etc. He asked Larry if he thought he was depressed. Well, of course Larry said "no". Anyway, the Dr. said we will wait till the results come in for the sleep study (2nd one!) and he may add a med then. I couldn't believe when he read Larry had been in bed for 9 hrs. and he had only 48 min. of sleep. This time they are giving him Ambien, so we shall see.
We will be rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. They beat the Phillys and are now in a tie with the Brewers. Go Cards! :cheer:
