New Mexico
Wow - didn't realize it was this long. I wanted to check in briefly. I retired in August and there have been many changes here at the shack - all good mind you.
Winter was horrid - as it was for all of us. I was so glad I found a reliable snow removal team, but also did not have to worry about making sure everything was safe for a caregiver to arrive and depart. I have to keep all the emergency exits to the house cleared, but it is on my schedule.
Spring took a long time to get here, but then a week of really warm and humid and WOW we are right back on schedule. Everything blooming. And I finally have time to take care of the yard.
Bruce is well. Loving me being home. We stick to our routine which works best for him.
But HUGE news. We are going to New Mexico first part of June. This is major, for me, as all of you who know me, understand. Awful lot of coaching from Colleen, Nancy and Julie. Yes, on a plane - LOL. I rented what I call a bungalow - the owners are terrific and it is all handicap accessible. They have had to make some adjustments since Bruce is R-sided affected. But the wonderful new is that they have been working with Bruce's College roommate, who lives in Albuquerque, about six miles from this bungalow.
It is very difficult to push Bruce over carpet. I don't want to be in the same hotel room, at 4am with no coffee, until room service is available and the TV on loud volume - incessant channel surfing. And I don't want to pray that someone is going to come up 10 flights of stairs to help us down in an emergency. I agreed to try this on my terms - LOL.
So big doings! I will update when we get back. Nancy advises that there will always be "drama" but one tries to keep the drama to a minimum.
