Crying in Lobby
I am having a complete breakdown becsise the most wonderful thing happened today.
I told my occupational therapist about my splint insurance woes and she was livid over the lies my case worker told about the paper trail, which she gave to me. Then she did the most surprising unexpected thing, she went to her supply cabinet and pulled out one of the sample hand braces, and gave it to me as a gift. I was thanking her but she stopped and said if anyone asks, you bought this, and she winked at me. I cannot believe the kindness. Because she said, this one is better quality than the other one. Then she got back to putting on the iontonesis treatment, which has helped so much.
I told her I did not expect it and that iy meant so much to me to have it,and that I appreciated her kindness.
She said she just got sick of insurance companies, and she wanted to do what is best for me,the patient.
I left then.
Waiting for my van in the lobby. Tearing up because I am numbed by effexor, but Tears or not, I am genuinely moved by this huge favor, act of kindness.
Another birthday surprise. From a stranger.
