When I got to the hospital to do my volunteer work yesterday one of the nurses stopped me and said can you meet with can you introduce yourself to Mr C in room XYZ he's really struggling today emotionally when I went to his room he had an OT and PT working with him so I waited.

The therapist said on her way out she's really tired you might wanna give him a break and I simply said I just want to introduce myself.

I introduced myself and said I would be staying long today but I know he's tired from all of this therapy but I would be back next week to check on him and see how he's doing

He laughed and said I never thought an hour of simple exercises would leave me flat out in exhaustion I said I told him I knew exactly what he meant because I've been there.

His wife asked me when I had my stroke and I said 2 years ago I said actually November 12th will be the second anniversary she said wow you look to be doing amazing.

I then told mr. C you know you're a fighter you've made it this far it's not going to be easy and it's not going to come fast but it there will be improvements

He smiled and thank me and then I said well I'll let you go you need your rest and he took his hand out for me to shake his hand which was really cool I have another new friend I'm now looking forward to Tuesday when I can stop in and see how he's
