New everything!
Hello friends! Things have change in my life almost ( but not quite ) as fast as they did when I stroked. New house new state and kinda new life too. Right after November we were hit with the desire to change our location and move closer to my daughter's family and my 2 Grandsons 7 and 10 years old. Boom talk about good timing. We made the 100 plus year old farm house pretty much maintenance free as planned but 2 and a half acres was becoming a bit much. for a 66 year old women in spite of her excellent condition. I was still cutting about an acre of grass with my riding mower. Once I quit it was more of a relief than I ever imagined. Sold that and my leaf sweeper to my next door neighbor. Good bye, good bye. Of course moving after almost 40 years in the same house is a task tough on even a healthy person. I helped as much as I could but April had a plan and bought the supplies to make it as easy as moving can be. Once we knew we were doing it she began boxing and labeling for the next 4 and a half months. Appliances stayed and that helped. By the time she found our Shangri-La we were in pretty good shape and yes I still have at least half of my boxes to go through. Ha-ha The icing on the cake of this was my neighbors. They were incredible. I kept telling them they just wanted to get me out of there. One in particular who has 11 acres behind me offered his 14' covered trailer and to take it to my new home 4 hours away when full. He did that 3 times over a 3 week period. The best thing was he would back it up to our garage and we could load it as we were ready. 3 times! That house held the last vestiges of my stroke and I'm glad to be gone. What surprised me was how when we had to return a few times to wrap things up we couldn't wait to get out of there. I was asked a few times about being sad leaving there and that was an easy "heck no". That is a roof and 4 walls. The memories I have from there didn't stay they moved with me.
