Bath Time!

Whilst in rehab, one of the first things I learnt was getting in and out the bath by myself. I decided early that I couldn't have Greg helping me in and hauling me out again twice a day!!!!! So here I was last night wallowing nicely in my bubblebath (slippery!) when smart-Alec Vicky decided to try get out like I used to do pre-stroke. Note to self: Bubbles = slippery!!!!! The post-stroke way of getting out the bath goes something like this: Position oneself onto knees, Carefully stand up, Hold onto basin, step out of bath!!!!!This method works just fine, so why do I go and change it? Last night I gracefully managed to haul myself up frontwards but slipped, luckily catching onto the basin in time, but causing a tidal wave of water to spill onto the floor!!!!! So now instead of drying off and jumping into my cosy pajama's, I must now mop the floor!!!! head_hurts.gif Back to the drawing board!!!! Needless to say, this morning I was back to the post-stroke method, safely managing to get out the bath without any mishaps - that will teach me!!!!!

VIX,

BATHING IN THE HOSPITAL REMINDED ME OF GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH.

IT TOOK ME ONE-HALF HOUR TO GET OUT OF THE JACUZZI THE FIRST TIME I TRIED IT AT HOME.

I FOUND A GREAT SOLUTION FOR EXITING A TUB AND CONSERVE WATER AT THE SAME TIME. BATHE WITH A FRIEND. MAKES IT EASY TO EXIT BY HAVING SOMEONE TO HOLD ON TO. lol_1.gif

Yes, I use the shower, had a rubber mat and a shower chair for a long time..Also got one othe shower heads that has the detachable head on a hose so I could rinse off my back and easier to rinse shampoo out of hair. Nothing like a nice long soak in bubbles though...
