I AM REALLY ENJOYING BEING A MEMBER OF STOKENET... EVERYBODY HAS BEEN SO NICE. I LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING TO KNOW YOU.

I LIVE IN OHIO AND HAVE A WONDERFUL HUSBAND. WE'RE PLANNING A TRIP TO CALIFORNIA IN JUNE FOR MY SISTERS WEDDING. I CAN WALK WITH A CANE, BUT HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE MY WHEELCHAIR SO I CAN ENJOY ALL THE SIGHTS. WE ARE SO EXCITED... COME ON SUNSHINE!!!

I HAVE ALOT OF GOOD DAYS, ALONG WITH SOME BAD. I MISS DRIVING MY CAR. BUT MY WISH IS TO DRIVE AGAIN SOMEDAY. I HAVE TIME TO WAIT. ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED IS LOTS OF PATIENCE. AND TO LIVE STRONG. NEVER GIVE UP. PUSH YOURSELF EVERY DAY. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I DO HOUSEHOLD CHORES AND ONLY HAVE USE OF ONE OF MY ARMS. THERE IS NOTHING I WON'T TRY. IT GIVES ME PURPOSE. I REFUSE TO ROT...

IF I CAN HELP JUST ONE PERSON, I HAVE SERVED MY PURPOSE. GOD SAVED ME FROM THIS TERRIBLE THING FOR A REASON.. MY WORK IS NOT DONE YET...

MY BUTT IS GETTING NUMB, SO I HAVE TO STOP FOR NOW. TAKE CARE EVERYONE... BE STRONG!!!

You are very smart to take your wheelchair with you on a trip. When I first started walking with a cane, I would take mine to use when I fatigued. I get tired easily when I travel, but it also makes me stronger at the same time if that makes sense.

Before you know it all your walking aids will be history, and will find a cubby hole somewhere in your house.

I wish you the best.

hey:

you are going to have fun in CA, its my one of the faviorate vacation destination. keep on pushing yourself and all those adaptive devices will be way of past.

I was adamant in not using cane or wheelchair and I achieved that Goal from day 1, and as I push myself more, my endurance has increased, I can walk for lot longer time wthout getting too tired

I also believe in the same things you say, I survived for a reason, and there is some good purpose behind it, well I have little kido(9 yr old), so my purpose is pretty obvious

Survivor,

Glad you enjoy the site. Have fun for your sister's wedding, I know you'll be dancing. You are going to have the desire to go sight seeing, so you may want to consider a power chair or scooter rental when you get there.

I have one hand use too and there are many hills in Ca depending on the city. I drive and use a scooter for shopping in the big stores and malls. :scooter:
