Private Physio Day

Those of you who know we have an nhs system may wonder why the private physio. Short answer, nhs were rubbish at rehab. Of course thats just my opinion. So much so my sister in law kindly raised enough to get me on my feet again. Made quite some Christmas present and made the local newspaper. In sweltering weather had a good session. With help transferred to bed by board, shifted myself up the bed, lay down and adjusted my own position alone! Found my bad arm will move well, all muscles work. Bad news is no easy task, overcoming the tone that keeps my arm tight to my side. Fantastically could straighten my arm myself using the muscles - at one point was bent with hand by my neck and wouldn't budge so real improvement that excites me. Then the stand. A person is either side to help me. They let go and I stayed up, balance is really back. Only briefly but I did it! Was told by nhs physio this day wouldn't ever come. Ha! Resolved one day will walk in to show how wrong they were and I will! Stood to transfer back, shuffled position till I was at right angle for wheelchair then sat. How satisfying. Fantastic news is physio didn't exhaust me today as it often does. All good as I haven't walked in 18 months.

Number 2 son home, 13 year old. They walk the roughly 2 miles there and same home. Ran in this heat as chased by an angry wasp he accidentally swatted! Had a drink when home of course and bless, always as today offers me one. Looks after his mum!

Oh wheelchair people. Will assess my driving and if safe WILL give me an indoor outdoor one. Yeh! Only want one if I am indeed safe so went best I could hope for. BTW Will have a belt for safety. All this is on loan and free, we are so lucky here. She would give me a voucher and let me chose but I prefer the professional says what suits me, I know so little.

That's all for now, other sons just got home. In the words of the terminator, I'll be back!
