Happy Labor Day!!!!

We're just sitting at home today, but yesterday we went to my parents house for lunch. It was so nice out and Mike really enjoyed it, except he was a little ready to go home before my sister who was transporting his chair for us was ready, so he got a little grumpy then. It would be so nice to have our own transportation. He rides in our car but his wheelchair doesn't fold down so we have to have someone else take the chair, but it's still so nice to get out of the house for something other than therapy and doctors appointments. I have a large family so there was lots of people there and my brother was home on leave. He was in Iraq but is home now and stationed in Kentucky, he has a week long break. Mike always enjoys getting to talk to Richie, I think thats because they are so much alike. They have the same kind of sense of humor. We're all really close and Mike, my sister in law and my brother in law all just fit into the family so well, its always a good time when we can all get together. Mike didn't get sick on the way over there or back. I decided to just lower the bromocriptine medication and not introduce the new motion sickness patches until we see how that works. I figured that if we've already tried four different medications already that one more is probably not going to do the trick. He hasn't shown any negative effects of lowering the bromocriptine so I'm not as worried now. His speech is still clear and his memory doesn't seem to be worse.

Mikes daughter was over this weekend, so that made for a full house. His Dad is in town (he lives in the Chicago area), he came by today. He hasn't seen Mike in a couple of months so he could really see the difference in how well he's doing compared to the last time he saw him. They had a nice visit and he is going to come to Mikes therapy session on Friday. He has never seen him walk so I hope Mike is feeling good that day and does as well as he has at other times in therapy, some days are better than others.

Well, I hope everyone is having a nice labor day and get to enjoy being with family and freinds.
