TV Star!
About time I entered this. Had an exciting weekend. UKers will have heard of Channel 4's Despatches, a national TV programme. They were 2 very pleasant women, here about 2 hours Sunday filming but it will be cut to a short piece. The uk government invested more recently in the National Health Service and the programme asks where that money went. I talked (on my pc and Ross kindly was my voice, we'd still be here now amid cries of "sorry didn't catch that, say it again" had I tried to talk!) about my experiences and physio or lack thereof! Ended by filming all those things I can't reach to show why physio is so important. Programme should be in 2 weeks roughly. As you can see my title for this entry is very tongue in cheek but if doing this helps just 1 person get physio it was worth it.
Elsewhere life is much the same. Legs getting stronger definitely and can nearly stand from lower, my next aim. Ultimately I aim at independence, it's so demeaning having to be helped to the toilet and have your clothes adjusted. Think I said that to TV camera. I got used to it but don't like it. Have such a laugh with my carers though. Two are on holiday for 2 weeks and the regular one (they work different days as a team) got saddled with a right case for the Breakfast call. She buckled my bad arm to the chair with the seatbelt amongst many daft things and when she goes puts her face right up to mine and bellows in a patronising voice "bye see you tomorrow"! As the other carer commented later, its my leg and arm that don't work, not my mind!
