1. i was born in a small town in oklahoma, my entire family was born there.

2. i grew up on a farm that raised cattle and wheat.

3. my grandparents were german and swedish

4. i am a middle child having older sister and younger brother. we are exactly 3 years apart, birthdays are aug, sept, oct. i think my mother worked hard on her plan. all our names begin with k.

5. my father worked in the aerospace industry mostly working with planes, we lived in many towns in ok, then moved to texas twice where i spent my teenage years.

6. when i was 9yrs old i sat on johnny cash's lap and sang ring of fire with him. he sang better than i did,lol. he was a very nice man and dressed in black head to toe.

7. i played in sports when i could, basketball, softball,track but i didn't excel at them, just had fun.

8. i met my husband in 9th grade, pregnant at 16, married at 17 and have been married for 38years this may,2008

9. i always have been a HUGE animal lover. i would find strays bring them home and nurse them to health and keep them or find homes for them.

10. my family lives on ok, tx,az and indiana. i had lived in az twice , been here since 1979. each summer i swear i am moving to some place cooler, lol

11. i grew up in the 60's, so yes i tried drugs,just for the fun and experience of it. didn't like most of them. it was my hippie phase.

12. my 1st job was at dairy queen, enjoying the food not the work.

13 i was lucky enough to get into the medical field, various positions and worked my way up through different jobs. i worked in this field for over 25yrs up until the day of my stroke.

14 i have smoked since i was 13 yrs old, once catching my closet on fire, no real damage but my folks decided at 15 to let me smoke in front of them, my entire family smoked. i have quit once, then went back to it after my atroke, dumb move but i enjoy it. my doctors aren't to happy about it. i figure i might as well go out of this world doing what i enjoy.

15.i never had a chance to go to college, had my 1st child at 17. waited 111/2 yrs to have another one. i thought my husband going to college was more important anyway. which he did.

16. my kids went to college but were baseball players all the way through school. my oldest even got a baseball schloarship to college.

17 my favorite color is purple.

18 i used to garden and do all sorts of crafts, walk my dogs, be out with my friends.

19. i know how to drive a motorcycle.

20. i did finish high school.

21, i once skipped the first 8wks of my 8th grade. going with friends to lake daily. needless to say i got all f's on my 1st report card. i was the one that called in for my friends. my voice sounded like a mothers i guess. it worked. i got caught and grounded for a month.

22. i tore my ligaments away from my knee doing a cheer in front of the mirror in junior high. out of school for 8wks too. did my lessons at home to keep up. also went through tons of physical therapy to fix my knee. to avoid surgery.

23. i loved the beatles, and would go into hysterics when i saw them on tv. i have all of their albums and 45's. typical teenage girl and the beatles,yeah,yeah,yeah.

24. i was always a hard worker, very conscientious and somewhat of a perfectionist. always helped my coworkers, stayed late, and came in early, whatever i needed to do.

25 i love walking in the woods or just enjoying nature .

26. i am very involved with helping animals anyway i can. they make this world a much better place and prettier too.

good start, now I know what signs to look out if my son decides to skip classes :D having kids early in life has their own advantages you are still young and fit when grandkids come along.

Wow Ms. Kimmie...now I've learned even more about you. Your caring nature is still so prevalent today. So you skipped school huh? You were braver than I was lol.

 

Your love for animals is same as mine; however, I was not brave enough to bring them all home with me. I tried the "look who followed me home" but it didn't work.

 

You are a sweet dear person. Looking forward to hearing the other 74 things about you.

:wub2: Kimmie: You are amazing and I loved learning more about you. I haven't been on the boards as late; too busy and too busy in between. Hopefully, that too shall pass. Did you "pledge" to list 100 things people didn't know about you or something like that? Good idea. It takes a lot of thinking to go back the years you did.

 

I think of you a lot, especially being that we are not far in bird's time ! But Phx and Tucson are a little too far for a leisurely drive. Maybe someday we can meet face to face. Take care. Hugs, Leah
