HostAsha Posted June 1, 2009 hey Lisa I am speechless. you are doing the right thing. don't ever push yourself, do what you can within your limits. I always remember whatever I can do today compared to just few years back. It's huge plus. Asha Quote Link to comment
redsonya Posted June 1, 2009 Thanks Asha. Being a mom I am so used to pushing past my limits. I just can't do that the way I use too. I can push a little and do a little more than before. Like you said when you compare from where you started it is amazing. It is just learning the balance of when to say enough you must rest now before I start tipping over would be good Quote Link to comment
Guest Hostjoy Posted June 2, 2009 Dear Redsonya, How beautifully put. And It takes alot of courage to do what you did, so don't think of yourself as being afraid or fearful. When you were talking about voices behind you or out of your sight making you dizzy, it brought to mind another old saying I thought of........"Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend." Family and friends will help you get rid of that pebble and climb that mountain! God Bless you, now and always..................Joy Quote Link to comment

You all know just how I feel and you are pushing forward so that is so encouraging. God Bless you too! Lisa Quote Link to comment
dstraugh Posted June 5, 2009 Lisa, All of our recovery is in HIS time, not ours. I too try to push sometimes a tad to hard then I pay the price for it. I tend to push myself to also live up to my daughter's expectations of me as her hero. As the Mariah Carey song "Hero" says the hero lies within you. Another member Elondie has mentioned Miley Cyrus' song "The Climb". I've really listened to the words since she mentioned it and those words as well can be applied to a stroke survivor. We are all heroes climbing that ol darn mountain together arm in arm. Quote Link to comment
