being a stroke mentor
hi there my name is lenny harrison, and i had a stroke on march 19th2001i was hospitalize at g.f. stong located in vancouverafter i have been rehab for about a yeari got a phone call from the ot anbout how well i was doing and if i would like to give my sevice in order to help another stroke surviver, and of coarse i said yes so i was told that i will have to attend a coarsein order to learn about talking with stroke surviver and how to achieve setting a goal and seing it through so after taking the coarse i graduated, and then shortly after that i got a stroke surviver who was preatty sure that after having a stroke life was preatty munch overso after convincing him that it was not we begun to share ideas and we walk together and we had a great time sharing ideas and what i did to help myself to be able to do what i can do, so after telling joseph what i use, joseph went out ande buy that aide to help him to be able to bend the ankle, and upon seing him he showedme that he can indeed use and bend the dorsa flexso of coarse i was very happy happy that i was able to help, and that he will listen and then i started to realize that i was starting to enjoy his company, as munch as i was because not only was iohelping him he was helping meso in short i found that being a stroke mentor is a very good therapy for you so i benifit as munch as he, oh yes and joseph found out that there is life after a stroke, it is just a little differentbut enjoying it non the lesswell thats the story of how i become a stroke mentor and how i am able to help and why i enjoy, doing what i do and yes it is a giood feeling knowing that you are needingand you can help somebodyall the best to you and above all keep tring
