dalene: let me be first to welcome you to our stroke community. I know shopping feels great, it has so many advantages to us stroke survivors, it build up stamina whilw we are busy spending money and entertaining ourselves with window shopping. I have 9 year old son, and I m looking forward to when he will go to college&I will be shopping for his dorm. Keep on blogging, it will be fun to know you through your blogs and also drop in chatroom sometime. Thanks Asha

Marty: I chuckled throug whole of your blog since we had gone through same route you went through, in the middle of 2003 while I was pregnant with my 2nd child, husband used to complain, pain in his legs, in his buttocks,& went to doctor, doctors performed 100 tests, even checked for cancer, finally one day we had both gone for ultra sound for me, and while in waiting room,I was flipping pages of pregnancy related magazine, and read same symptoms my husband was saying, & reason it said it could be sciatica nerve might be getting pinched, so hubby told his finding to doctor, and dummy doctor said, it could be and sent him for PT, and PT gave set of great exercises to hubby, and since them he is pain free. I thought I would just mention those to you, he says all our life we do bending down, never do opposite exercise, so you should do bending backwards exercises few times a day, & keeping pillow on chair, car should b done to support ur lumbar. Asha

hey Amy: you could have strained in sleeping, or maybe ur monitor is 2 high, so could have strained in that 2, for me sometime pain gets healed by putting ice patches, that always help me, hope you feel better& stop worrying bout it, u will not cure it, make ot worse so stop worrying Asha

Rich: I stroked at 34, just a 2 days after delivering baby, my hubby was asking about tpa but doctors vwere up in arms against it saying I would bleed to death or hemorrage, my atroke was clot based since I was in highly cogulating state just after delivery, anyhow I m happy about your walking strides & improved functionality already, so happy for u, looks like you are in ur upswing ride, keep on going, don't forget to wave at us on the ground from top love Asha -

Amy: wow, congratulations on your upcoming anniversary, we just celebrated our 15 this year though hubby was in US & I was in India, just the way v had celebrated our first wedding anniversary. its amazing to see how far we have come together, and many more still to come I guess somebody is getting lucky on that day  cheers, Asha -
hi cindy: I hope you feel better, i was ready to faint reading ur blog, I use only knives and that to only 1 knife which I m used to, I m glad no stiches and hopefully you will heal in few days, and let ur resident do cooking at home 2 Asha
-
hey Diane: I m really inspired by your will to do things even when you are wheelchair bound and use of 1 hand only. I don't think I would have been able to handle that well if I was in that situation. Due to my strke I have also lost use of my left hand but I m rightie so things r okay. Asha(survivor at 36)

wassup: I m sorry for ur dog loss , but happy about your pregress, I wish I can swim Asha
-
sherry: It takes lot of years to do phd, and don't make ur procastination or stroke take over you and not finish ur phd, I did my masters while working full time and being full pregnant and took load of full time student such that I can finish my masters before my baby was born, and I m so proud of my masters. I used to feel same about anti depressant, but by being on them life was so smooth, though now I m on my way to getting rid of them. please we will also look forward to ur dec graduation. Asha
-
cindy: I agree with you we have over 4000 members and not everyone think alike, hey even brother sisters also have arguments, sometime arguments happens, we don't know who started it, but I feel if someone starts argument, if other person becomes bigger at heart and let it go, its hard to argument to escalate. but what do I know Asha

hey Amy: I love your attitude, and wish ur hubby happy birthday from me love Asha -
hi sherri: acceptance does not mean you are saying this is how its going to b forever. acceptance is you accept your fate today and live in a moment not worrying about future, who knows what tomorrow will bring, start counting your blessings and you will feel lot better Asha
-
Sue: I m so releived to see you blog again, I m glad you went on impulse trip, I like your idea of going of to these kind of trips more often but next time u do drop a word to us such that v r more relaxed I just came back from my India trip& thinking about my next trip already. Asha
-
Amy: your sister sounds awesome, quite thoughtful, I too amm lucky in my siblings they all are awesome, though I do get mad sometime at my older sister, but I love them all very dearly Asha

In the Words of Haircut 100, Fantastic Day
HostAsha commented on a blog entry in veggie.vampire's Blog
hi veggie: based on your progress I don't think you will b stuck to that wheelchair for long. keep pushing yourself to not get hooked to wheelchair. life becomes much more easier for our caregivers if we are not wheelchair bound, world is not very wheelchair friendly. happy for your progress. cheer, Asha -
Marty: sorry about your friend's death. I agree with you 100% life isn't easy, its how we decide to deal with adversity makes life interesting. giving up to alcohol& drugs are easy choices, to fight on is the hard choice and I would take that choice anyday instead of giving up. Asha
