  14. I get lot of AHA moment after watching Oprah's super soul sunday & my discussion with my spiritual partner my hubby. recently author Mark Nepo author of book of awakening was on super soul sunday & something he said hit home for me. he said and I paraphrase it when you feel you are so broken and as a human who has not felt loss in their life when you feel you are so broken & can't come out of the muck you are in, but at that time realizing not everything is broken gives you strength to just hang one more day. I know that is very true for me. had it not been my young family I would not have come out alive after my stroke. thing is when something bad happens it is very hard to stay in moment & you agonize over horrible future based on your current situation, which causes unwanted stress which lead to depression. Though I feel what does not kill you does make you stronger. I know atleast that's what is true for me. My adversity of stroke brought lot of positives in my life like I learnt to enjoy ordinary things & never take simple joys of life for granted. I feel I used to be very materialistic. for me being successful person is only way to be happy. but post stroke thanks to this spiritual angle has made my life more meaningful. Everything I do now I do it mindfully without taking it for granted. like doing mundane chores also feels like blessings that I can still do. Asha
  15. Sally : thanks for updating us. I called at the hospital & they told me she moved. Anyway I called her new place. she sounded very excited about new rehab place. her direct number in her room is direct line to her room - 561-853-2864 you are great friend. Asha
  16. Sandy : that is such a hilarious story lol Asha
  17. Cindy : yes it is, & don't forget to change batteries in your smoke detectors. our smoke detectors saved us from fire which started in basement while we were sleeping in our bedroom in second floor. Those smoke detector went off at middle of night & saved us from fire which could have not been preventable had hubby was not able to put out before it got out of hand. so working smoke detectors & CO detectors r lifesavors. Asha
  18. Sandy : so sorry for your loss. I hope & pray Bob takes this news nicely Asha
  19. Thanks sally I have been talking with her & she said she will make sure to give us contact info as soon as she will move to next rehab place. thanks sally for updating every one. sometimes it feels so helpless when you don't live close by & can't help person physically. but I know by staying in touch over the phone is still better than none at all. Asha
  20. kelly : I am glad you are realizing that you are also part to blame in him not wanting physical touch. but I am glad you are realizing your mistake too. so time to correct your behavior too. Asha

    Carolf Update

Sally : thanks for updating. I tried calling her but she was in therapy. I will keep her in my prayers. Asha
  23. Nancy : does he get enough exposure to sun ? maybe taking him out on a walk in a nature might help his mood. I know for me walk in nature is very healing. for me nature & sunlight always helped me boost my mood, & ofcourse for me reading inspirational & or spiritual books helped me get out of my funk mood. I learnt after despair of my stroke that to be broken is no reason to see everything is broken. So focusing on things I am still grateful for after my stroke helped me &ofcourse when I started contributing in our family dynamics helped me feel better about myself. Asha
  24. happy 10th Anniversary tootie & Elondie. Asha
  25. Leah : you will be in my prayers for good recovery. hope you come out stronger than before Asha
