    giving time

Sue : I am glad you had great mothers day. I always find going with how life & day unfolds more relaxing. Ofcourse I have some basic things to do, like kidos activities takes priority rest can unfolds the way it wants to without any attachment or expectations to it. Asha
  4. Hope you all are having great mothers day with your kids, I feel so blessed to have amazing kido even being teenager woke me up with kiss & hug in the morning & man my day already started with wonderful note & feeling like queen mom. He was like what do you want or breakfast mom & I was floored. I am so happy & greatful to be able to be still here even after stroke & enjoy seeing him growing into such a wonderful young man. Ofcourse there are some days when he won't listen & make me so angry, but thank god I got the maturity that these days will pass too. I still have letter written to God about please take care of him on those angry days lol. anyways hope you all are having great mothers day like I am having with my family. Asha

    Long, sad,days

Jhari : your brother & your whole family is in my thoughts & prayers. Asha
  11. Sue : I know feelings of taking care of some projects where stakes are higher if you mess up. I think I will blog about that too. Just wanted to let you know I understand just keep faith & do your best & then go with flow Asha
  12. Lenny : thats great exercise simple one which one can do lying in the bed. Thanks, Asha
  13. StingRay : I am glad you had great time on your vacation. I am glad that you made it on time to catch your train & everything went well. As long as you are willing to look at travel as adventure & not get aggravated by work that is involved in it, becomes great therapy for every one involved. We have always traveled after my stroke, I enjoyed it. Maybe hubby might have sweated in the beginning, but never let me know, so we always had fun on our vacations. Though I don't need any help in traveling, only drawback is that I can't help him in carrying bags or anything, so he is on his own of-course I feel bad about it, but have to accept & move on, though now kido is strong enough to help his dad. Asha
  14. Sandy : my OT sister-in-law feels walking on grass or sand is best therapy to strengthen your ankle. after coming home from rehab we kept sand pit so that I can practice walking on it, I also walked lot on grass. I remember how uncertain I used to feel about my ankle in the begining. now I can trust my ankle on grass & feel less shaky on it. hope you make that exercise as part of Bob's routine Asha
  15. Nancy : like Fred I also never had anger issues, I was feeling more guilty for putting my family in this bad rollercoaster ride, I am forever greatful to them that they chose to ride with me. on the contractory stroke made our marriage stronger than before. I wish you lot of luck in dealing with Dan's tantrums, what would he do if you choose to walk away from his life, does he ever think about that? Asha
  16. Debbie : you are doing great in planning, organizing & running the household. every brain injury is so different, since as a survivor post stroke I am so different, maybe having young son at home was instrument in doing more for myself & my family. Asha
  17. Sue : you are amazing grandma, I don't think all grandparents plan so many activities for their grandchildren. when I was working & kido used to be at grandma's house all I wanted & was sure of that he will be eating well, playing with his friends & watching cartoons. if mom took him to nearby park then it was bonus. idea is just to watch over them, I was more than happy for my mom's help in looking after our son while I worked & it gave me peace of mind. kids r lot of work for sure. Asha
  18. Mary Jo : just take a deep breath during this difficult time. you both will be in my thoughts and prayers. Asha
  19. Nancy : I am glad with your appointment with psychologist went well. I like your analogy with abstract painting. experiences in life have made you quite philosophical lol. are you on any antidepressant? stroke affects whole family. Though for me along with antidepressants blogging & reading spiritual books also helped me recenter. Asha
  20. Sue : I hope & pray to have similar kind of love for my hubby. My love I feel so conditional unlike I have for our son, nothing compares to yours. Ray & you were fortunate to have each other for so many years & now I am sure you see glimpse of him in your children & grandchildren. Asha
  21. Fred : happy to see you back with great report. I agree with George with your new lenses you will be able to see your beautiful wife better & ler her know too. Asha
  22. Dyan : Sue has great suggestions. I usually sign up our son in different kind of camps.ofcourse how he is older so he has his own things to do. Asha
  23. Every time I think now I learnt my lesson, but still keep on resisting the life the way it unfolds. I am sure God must be pulling his hair and thinking to himself when will she learn. how many times he has to show me that whatever is happening in my life is for my benefit, so stop resisting & go with flow. its silly sometimes how some small inconvenience in my life will make me upset, though given time & with my nagging family members to make adjustment to my small inconvenience. & it turns out to be even better option than before. I have seen this so many times that it feels even odd to mention. I am just writing t remind myself & follow my own advice of going with flow & trusting higher power that something bigger & better will come out of this.
  24. kelly : wow its amazing story, I bet your talking with the driver helped both of you learn new things about life. that's what I find so therapeutic about my blogs. Even just reading caregivers blogs it helped me understood what my husband was going through even when he does not believe in talking about his feelings. Asha
  25. Lydia we were thinking & wondering about you, thanks for updating us. from look of this blog you have been busy rebuilding your life back. happy for you. you are one smart cookie going back to work & handling everything alone that in itself is amazing in my books. hope tp bump into chatroom on your holidays. BTW we do have sunday evening chat which is at 8PM, hopefully that will work out for you. Asha
