  1. Ann, Time flies when you're having fun or so "they" say lol. I'm glad things are going well with Trey being there - I'm sure your kitty would be most indignant if a D.O.G. came to his home. Crystal would be beside herself as well. I wish Trey best of luck with his schooling. Many Many years ago (seems like in another lifetime now lol), I was an EMT/Paramedic here in Pennsylvania. I was affiliated with a volunteer ambulance service and absolutely loved it. I'm so glad to hear too that Bill's medication issues are resolved. I agree with you Quality of Life is so much more important.
  2. A huge WELCOME to the Blog Community! As Sue said, it is addictive, but in a very good way. Blogging can be very therapeutic indeed. Glad your dinner party was a success. Your hubby sounds like an Angel on earth - support is so vital in our recovery.
  3. How Cool!!! I too am anticipating getting to meet them now that we are on the same side of the country. It was great that you guys were able to make the connection.

David, I can totally relate to you. Trust is a hard thing to earn in my book. For the most part, my trust is only with my daughter. Perhaps it's because it's generally just me and her and I need to rely on her in case I get in trouble. I even experienced difficulty whenever I had a new therapist in physical therapy. Now that we've relocated closer to family I need to work on trust issues in letting others assist me. It sounds like the gal is not too swift in the common sense department. Good luck with her.

    Hobby

David, They say patience is a virtue lol; but I can understand how difficult it can be with some people. Hopefully she remembers what to do, if not, you'll coach her...
  7. Lin, Crystal has not learned to use the remote (yet  ) she guards it. Asha, Kristi can't wait for first snowfall. I've already been told our back yard will be filled with snow people. Kim, the railing is working great. I get my daily workout for sure Shirley, we're waiting somewhat patiently for bedrooms to be completed. You'll love the Magic Bullet Mel, I try to keep Kristi occupied as much as possible. Plus, since we're more settled, I let her sleep-in in the mornings Bonnie, I can't wait to trade out the "TALL" bed. I do feel like Alice in Wionderland getting in and out of it. In the Gallery, there are pics of the house just after we arrived. (Scroll up My Gallery Albums and click on "our home" to see them)
  8. Linnie, Your pics are terrific - I agree - you have plenty of reasons, as we all do, to keep on keepin on. Great family photos. Hope your trip goes well and you enjoy cruisin through the shops as well as relaxing.
  9. Glad to hear your Buddy-boy has been medically released. You're a great Dad! :Clap-Hands:

  20. How exciting for you Kakii!!! :Clap-Hands: I'm sure you and Miss Kitty will be very happy in your new home. While you're unpacking and getting settled, she'll be busy checking out her new turf or should I say palace as it befits a queen. Crystal adjusted rather quickly, which surprised us as she has not previously adjusted so well in moving. We think it might be a fear of going back into that NASTY carrier and riding in a plane that has her now a social butterfly. Look forward to hearing about you getting settled.
  21. Very interesting Phyllis. I did a bit of research and discovered the Federal Trade Commission issued a report on reverse mortgage. The link is: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/homes/rms.shtm

    Back to normal

You might want to use caution in giving Teddy pork chop bones unless your vet says it's ok - from all that I've always heard, pork chop and chicken bones are considered no-nos for dogs cos the cooked bone splinters to easy and can cause internal injuries. Large beef bines are preferred.
  23. Sue, I can empathize with your feelings of lonliness. For summer, I have company virtually 24/7 as kiddo is home from school. Once school starts for her, I will be "on my own" once again. From her standpoint, she can truly relate to your lonliness as she has not met any kids outside family yet. We've got 27 days till school starts. For your alone times, try to fill your time with things you enjoy doing outside of "chores" such as crafts, reading, listening to music. These help pass the time. For me, the internet is my time filler - time seems to pass by quickly for me. I love Free Cell :Typing: and Solitaire. Be careful what you wish for; after the grandbabies leave you may very well relish your alone time

    Hello All!!

Butch, Wishing you guys cooler temps. Weather patterns are definitely getting wackier - global warming perhaps? I just relocated from Arizona; they're saying that there, with global warming, the summer highs will be hitting 130's in years to come. Best of luck in your tourney.

    So my brother tells me

Stu, You can lead a horse to water....ya know the rest. What your brother experienced may definitely been a warning sign as we all well know. Don't verbally nag at him - believe me - I know first hand that doesn't work as he'll just quit telling you things. Does he have internet access?" If so, as you do research on stroke, email him the info including warning signs, preventions, etc. Besides the National Stroke Association and American Stroke Association, about.com has excellent stroke resources.
